CEMFI invites applications for a 1-year part-time Research Assistant position (Pre-doc), jointly co-supervised by Associate Professor Tom Zohar (CEMFI), Assistant Professor Nina Buchmann (UC Berkeley), and Postdoctoral Research Fellow Sevin Kaytan (Yale University). The project examines gender inequality in the labour market, the design and effects of norms-based policy interventions, and the long-term consequences of social stigma on marriage and labour-market trajectories. The empirical approach combines reduced-form quasi-experimental methods with the construction and analysis of Dutch administrative microdata from Statistics Netherlands (CBS), accessed through CBS's secure remote-access environment. The position is funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Universities research project entitled "Income Dynamics, Employment Dynamics, Fertility Decisions, and Cultural Norms: Implications for Gender Inequality and the Labor Market" (MCIU PID2024-158202NB-I00), and by the Grant entitled "Economic and Social Effects of Climate and Energy Policies (PHS-2024/PH-HUM-126 CLIMAD-CM) funded by Comunidad de Madrid, with co-funding from UC Berkeley and Yale University.
