Research grants
CEMFI frequently participates in joint research projects and networks involving other research institutions in Europe. In addition, CEMFI faculty have won several highly competitive grants awarded by international and national funding agencies. These include five of the prestigious grants awarded by the European Research Council (ERC), as well as grants from the Russell Sage Foundation, the Fundación Ramón Areces, the regional Government of Madrid and the Government of Spain.

Research networks
Survey of Health, Aging and Retirement in Europe (SHARE), jointly developed with institutions from 20 other European countries. CEMFI has been responsible for the six survey waves so far undertaken in Spain: the first three were funded by the European Commission, the fourth by the Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad (formerly, MICINN), and the fifth and sixth by the European Commission and the Bank of Spain.
