Frequently asked questions

1. Can I apply after the official deadline?

Admission decisions will be made weekly on Thursdays, reviewing all applications received until 12 noon, until the program reaches full capacity. Decisions will be sent every Friday. Admission to the full Program, which includes all courses, will close on November 13 at noon. Admission to individual courses will close at noon on the last Thursday before each course begins.

2. Will there be an exam for the course content?

No, there is no exam for these courses. The program is designed to provide professional training in the designated field, and evaluation is not part of the course structure.

3. Will I receive a certificate of attendance?

Yes. The certificate will be issued to participants who attend all sessions of the course. Upon completing the entire program, you will receive a certificate issued by CEMFI listing the program title (e.g., "Econometric Tools with Applications to Financial Analysis") and all the courses included. If you complete only some courses, the certificate will list only the courses you have successfully completed, without reference to the program title.

4. Are there any background requirements to take a course?

Requirements vary by course. Check the course webpage for details.

5. Do I need to bring my own computer?

Yes. Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop to complete coursework. Using a personal laptop is particularly important for the practice sessions. Please refer to the webpages of the individual courses for detailed instructions.  CEMFI provides access to a wireless network and participates in the eduroam initiative for secure Wi-Fi access.

6. What is the "Invoicing Data" requested in the application form?

If your institution is covering the course fee, we will need their Fiscal/Tax Identification Number and Official Registration Number for tax purposes (commonly referred to as VAT Number or CIF for Spanish institutions). If you are paying for the course yourself, please provide your Passport Number (or DNI for Spanish citizens). For more details, please refer to the information provided here.
