On 13 July 2026, the Minister for Science, Innovation and Universities, Diana Morant, presided over the ceremony for the presentation of accreditations to the 2025 Severo Ochoa Centers of Excellence and María de Maeztu Units of Excellence of Agencia Estatal de Investigación (AEI). Natalia Fabra, as the principal investigator received the accreditation as a María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence on behalf of CEMFI, marking the third consecutive time that the institution has received this distinction.
