CEMFI is in a privileged location. We are in a beautiful listed building dating from 1887 which is located in a quiet and attractive area in the centre of Madrid, between the Retiro Park and the Prado Museum. It is also close to the Banco de España, whose extensive research library can be used by our faculty and students.
CEMFI is at walking distance from the underground stations of Banco de España and Atocha-Renfe, and from Atocha-Renfe railway station. Several line buses stops near CEMFI. Check the area map to plan your route.
Directions from Madrid-Barajas airport:
Taxi: You can expect a total fare of about 30 EUR.
Bus: Line 203 (the Airport Express line) stops in Plaza de Cibeles (nearby Banco de España) as well as in Atocha-Renfe (last stop). It costs 2 EUR.
Train: There are trains connecting Terminal T4 with Atocha-Renfe. Train is not the best option from other terminals. It costs 2.15 EUR.
Underground (Metro): Take line 8 (Aeropuerto T4-Nuevos Ministerios), change in Colombia to line 9 (Herrera Oria-Arganda del Rey) to Príncipe de Vergara, where you have to change again to take line 2 (La Elipa-Cuatro Caminos) to Banco de España.
