María de Maeztu Visitor Program

CEMFI has established a short-term visitor program with funding from its “María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence” distinction, awarded by Spain’s National Research Agency. This visitor program aims to attract leading researchers for short-term visits to CEMFI. Visits funded by this program normally last between two weeks and three months and take place between September and mid-July. Visitors are expected to contribute to the intellectual environment of CEMFI and interact with faculty and graduate students.

Applications to the CEMFI María de Maeztu Visitor Program are made by filling an online application form available following this link. The number of visiting positions is limited and applications are evaluated once a month. CEMFI does not reimburse the travel and accommodation expenses of visitors, but instead provides them with a flat honorarium which depends on the duration of the visit.

In addition to the María de Maeztu Visitor Program, there are other opportunities to visit CEMFI for longer periods. Please contact Joan Monras ( or Josep Pijoan ( for more details about visiting opportunities at CEMFI.
