The Summer School will take place in the Royal Palace La Magdalena, in Santander, Spain.
Santander is one of the most charming cities in Northern Spain. Bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, it offers a matchless location. It is well-communicated with direct flights from Madrid and Barcelona, as well from Amsterdam, London, Milan, and Paris, among other cities. While cultural life is a distinctive sign of Santander all throughout the year, it springs during the summer, due to the UIMP cultural activities, the Music, Theatre and Dance International Festival, and the prestigious “Ciudad de Santander” piano contest.
The Magdalena Palace, which is located in a spectacular little peninsula, was originally built as a present to King Alfonso XIII by the city in 1912. The palace serves as headquarter of UIMP since 1933, when the University was founded. Every summer, from June to September, the University holds a wide variety of courses, schools, and seminars.
Accommodation will be arranged for ECGTN Early Stage Researchers. Other participants should take care of it on their own. UIMP provides useful information on limited on-campus accommodation and other possible alternative arrangements.
