What are ical web calendars?

With the right calendar software, you can "subscribe" to our ical calendars that are published here. All events in the CEMFI seminar calendars will be added to your calendar, and automatically updated when we add, delete or change events, so that you can always be up to date.

CEMFI updates the ical web calendar files on a daily basis. How long it takes for changes to show up on your computer also depends on how often your software checks whether we have changed the calendars.

You can subscribe to the ical web calendars by using the links below (either to all seminars, or to specific series only):

How can I subscribe to calendars?

All you need is a calendar application that supports the iCalendar standard. There are several excellent calendar applications available for each major operating system.

Windows: Google Calendar, Lotus Notes, Mozilla Sunbird or Lightning, Zimbra, Microsoft Works (Version 8 or higher).
Microsoft Outlook 2003 users can download a free remote calendar plugin. Please note that Microsoft Outlook 2000 and Outlook XP do not support ical web calendars.

Macintosh: iCal, Mozilla Sunbird or Lightning, Zimbra

Linux: Novell Evolution, KOrganizer, Kronolith, Mozilla Sunbird or Lightning, Zimbra

You can read more about the iCalendar format on Wikipedia.
